Creating Topos
Another way that you can get involved is by making topos of areas you're familiar with. These are immensely helpful for those new to an area who are looking for a route! There are many ways to make topos, but these are the best two ways we have found so far. If you have a better or easier way, we'd love to hear about it!
Making Topos on Mountain Project
When you add a photo to Mountain Project, you can then easily draw routes on it. This is the easiest option, although it's a bit limited.
Making Topos with Google Drawings

Open and make a copy of our Template

Replace Photo: Right click, Replace Image, Upload from computer (Figure 1)

Add/Remove Lines: Click to select a line, then Copy/Paste or Delete to create the correct number

Edit Lines: Double-click a line to edit the spline points (Figure 2)

Add/Remove Labels: Click to select a label, then Copy/Paste or Delete to create the correct number

Edit Labels: Select text to change the number

Download Image: File/Download/PNG (Figure 3)
